Shrooms
The fruits of the forrest, captured at times sleeping, and sometimes when they come out to play.
I have a fondness for shooting fungi in Autumn, wandering around the woods in the peace and quiet looking for the smaller shot rather than the bigger landscapes. Then in 2020 during Covid like many others when restrictions were relaxed enough to permit photography outside I decided to try doing something new to me, and locally to reduce travel. The result was a new found fondness for shooting fungi with lighting.

Glowing Shrooms
It really can be a labour of love to produce glowing shrooms images. The effect I try to create is of fungi that mysteriously glows at twilight, as though they are playing and communicating with each other. It is very technical, using focus stacking and blending various sets of images together, but the end result is always fun.
What I find fascinating is the creative freedom it allows, playing with light and colour to producing something unreal, and yet I like to think they could be real. Who knows what happens in the woods at night.
