Description

Olympus 7-14 Pro Adapter

The adapter for the Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 has been developed especially to allow the use of filters on this lens. With the adapter the Nisi V6 filter frame can be mounted, allowing the use of two slot in filters, including ND filters, Graduated filters, or a square 100x100mm polariser.

The adapter is engineered to exact tolerances and is produced from a special black nylon on commercial 3D printers in Germany. A matt black textured surface ensures light is not reflected, and the gasket provides a tight light sealed grip on the lens.

Please Note – Although images show the use of the NiSi V5 Pro holder, the Adapter is now only available for the NiSi V6 holder. The V6 has been improved considerably with a new shape, meaning ND filters are much easier to remove, and slightly shallower rails has also reduced vignetting when the holder is rotated.

For users of the NiSi V5 Pro system, there is no need to purchase a new kit, simply purchase the V6 Alpha which will provide you with a new frame. The V6 frame will fit your V5 Adapter and polariser without issue.

Alternatively, if you are new to NiSi and wish to use filters on other lenses, purchasing the full V6 100mm Filter Holder along with the 7-14 Adapter will allow you to use filters on any lens with a thread up to 82mm.

The filter frame will need to be reduced to 2 slots instead of three. This is a simple process, see details here. If the V6 Alpha or Kit is ordered at the same time I will make the modification for you.

View the document below for instructions to connect the app to the BRC.

Connect BRC To App

Overview of Instructions

  1. Download the app, “NiSi ND Calculator”
  2. Plug the cable into the BRC which will switch on.
  3. Launch the app on your mobile, ensuring Bluetooth is switched on in the mobile settings. Click the Bluetooth icon in the app and search for the device “Nisioptics”. Select the device and they will be connected.

Using the ND Calculator

Using the app to calculate exposure is simple.

  1. First, note the correct normal exposure without an ND, for example 1/25. Switch your camera to Bulb Mode. Some cameras now have a dedicated Bulb Mode, but is more often in Manual and is reached by scrolling the shutter speed all the way over past the longest shutter speed (normally 30 seconds).
  2. In the app, select the ND filter you are using, for example ND1000, 10 stop.
  3. Set Basic Shutter Speed, this is the normal shutter speed without an ND, eg 1/25.
  4. Set if you wish to use exposure compensation to under or over expose, or leave at 0.
  5. The exposure time will be displayed, then just hit Start. The camera shutter will open and then close after the exposure time has finished.

Please note switching apps on your mobile while the exposure is running will not interfere with or cancel the exposure.
