Description
Manufactured from Optical Quality Glass with polished edges and rounded corners, all NiSi Filters feature Nano coatings to repel water and reduce lens flare, with IR layers to reduce the amount of infra-red wavelength light entering the lens causing colour cast, giving natural colour and enhanced contrast. All NiSi ND filters are supplied with foam gaskets to the rear to prevent light leaks.
NiSi IRND Filters are used for slowing down shutter speeds and for enabling a wider aperture to be used for video. By using an ND Filter less light is able to enter the lens, thus extending the shutter speed by the factor of the filter, measured in Stops.
NiSi produce a comprehensive range of ND filters for 2 stops all the way up to 15 stops for very long exposures. The desired exposure can vary depending on the scene, from slowing movement of water on waterfalls just enough to suggest movement, to dramatic streaking cloud movement and misty milky sea water.
Available in many densities from IRND4 2 Stops to IRND32000 15 Stops
