True Colour Square Polariser

The NiSi 100x100mm Square True Colour Polariser filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarised. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarised due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light, the result is a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.

Manufactured using the highest quality Nito polarisation film, the edges are blackened to prevent light reflecting through the edge.

The True Colour removes the warming effect of many polarising filters, giving a more natural colour rendition.

The Square shape of the polariser is not to be confused with older ‘linear’ polarisers which were used for film cameras. The shape of the filter does not refer to the type, hence this is still a circular polariser, required for digital cameras.

A square polariser is useful for some photographers who find they can use filters with an adapter, such as the Olympus 7-14mm and Nikon Z 14-24mm even without a thread but cannot use a typical circular threaded polariser. 

 

Although a square CPL will not allow circular rotation when also using a Graduated ND Filter, the effect can be altered as show above. It can be useful in some instances where a lens does have a filter thread but vignettes using a circular polariser. (Image shows older discontinued square HD Polariser)
